We provide a well-rounded educational program that offers a wide range of services for our children, teachers and parents. Since the beginning, our project has attracted field specialists from Switzerland and Germany. We consult them frequently for staff training and guidance.
In order to help our teachers improve their teaching abilities, we frequently send the teachers to other institutions in order to acquaint them with alternate training methods. Such efforts have already established the Hearing and Speech Centre at Mardan.
In order to promote a closer relationship between parents and hearing impaired children, Al Hoda established the Parent-Infant Coordination Program (PIC). Al Hoda Association, a non-profitable institution and voluntary welfare society, aims to do whatever may be required to educate and rehabilitate hearing-impaired children from the poorest families. Its existence totally depends on voluntary contributions, donations, membership fees, and grants to continue its services effectively.
We wish to extend our facilities nationwide; to bring educational change particularly to the disabled and underprivileged people in our country. Our main goal is to provide educational facilities to all children. However, the well-off families will have to compensate the cost on their child, which will facilitate us to help educate more children.
We have not yet decided how much fees have to be charged, however minimum fees will be equal to our cost on child’s education. We aim to work with parents who have the supporting duties to their children and the children belonging underprivileged families. Al-Hoda will try its best, naturally depending on the financial support of kind hearted individuals to assist as much as possible a great number of less fortunate families in our society.
All of these service combined provide an excellent and enriching educational environment for all HSC’s students. We will have a full time audiologist on staff to care for the hearing concerns of our students. We work in partnership with the students and their families to conduct hearing evaluations, hearing aid selection and service. We will also make ear moulds and swim plugs, and maintain a hearing aid stock. We will providing free of charge digital hearing aids to children whose parents are unable and could not afford to purchase hearing devices their children.
We believe as a principal the early identification and education of a child is as essential as a foundation of a skyscraper. This source of education is not available to most of our children, whereas 80% population of Pakistan lives in the villages. If a better quality of education is taught in the rural areas particularly to the disabled children, then they would also play a crucial and significant role in the economic growth of our country.
The language as a mother tongue cannot be taught, but it can be acquired in the relations between human beings. Use of residual hearing is emphasized from the early education period. We are training our children to use their ears and listen and let them realize that he/she can survive equally like an accomplished / skilled member of the society in all respects. |
